Pharmacological properties

A combined drug. It has a local irritant (“distraction”), anti-inflammatory, some antiseptic action, helps to narrow the blood vessels of the mucous membrane of the nasal passages.

The pharmacological effect of the drug is due to the properties of its constituent components.

Menthol is a local irritant whose effect is due to reflex reactions associated with irritation of sensitive receptors of mucous membranes. It has a mild local anesthetic (“distracting”) effect, has mild antiseptic properties.

Eucalyptus oil has a stimulating effect on the receptors of mucous membranes and has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic action.

Indications

Infectious and inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract (rhinitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, tracheitis); for symptomatic treatment in complex therapy to facilitate nasal breathing.

Pharmacological action

An antiseptic combined agent, the effect of which is determined by the properties of the components included in its composition.

When applied to the skin, levomenthol has a local irritant, some antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect, accompanied by a decrease in the severity of pain and itching. The irritating (distracting) effect helps eliminate pain. The local effect is accompanied by vasoconstriction, a feeling of cold, turning into a feeling of slight burning and tingling. Cutaneous-visceral effects (the reflex arc does not affect the brain) improve tissue trophism (according to the zones of innervation).
Phenyl salicylate is a phenyl ester of salicylic acid that breaks down into salicylic acid and phenol, which have a weak anti-inflammatory and disinfectant effect.

Special instructions

Avoid contact of the product with the mucous membrane of the eyes. In case of accidental contact with the eyes, it is recommended to rinse them with plenty of water.

If the condition worsens or symptoms persist for more than 5-10 days while using the product, you should consult a doctor.

You should not use the product for more than 3 days; if you need to use it for a longer period, you should consult your doctor.

Frequent and prolonged use of the product may lead to increased nasal congestion.

Pregnancy

Contraindicated for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Contraindications

Individual hypersensitivity to the components of the product; children under 6 years of age; pregnancy; breastfeeding period; bronchial asthma, bronchospasm, whooping cough.

Side Effects

Possible: allergic reactions, contact dermatitis, bronchospasm, burning sensation, sneezing or increased nasal congestion.

Recommendations for use

Apply topically (intranasally). The dosage regimen and method of administration are determined individually, depending on the dosage form used.

Use in children

Contraindicated for use in children under 6 years of age.
