Menopause, itching and dryness in the genital area

Diseases caused by insufficient estrogen in the body: Involution (atrophy) of the vagina and vulva, accompanied by itching, burning and dryness of the vagina, pain during intercourse (dyspareunia), colpitis, vulvitis, cervicitis, vaginal discharge, vaginal and cervical ulcers resulting from pressure or distension, concomitant therapy for vaginal infections and involuntary urination (urinary incontinence), lower urinary tract atrophy (urethrocystitis), pre- and postoperative treatment for vaginal surgeries, diagnosis in unclear vaginal smear results if there is a change in cellular composition pattern with signs of involution.

Indications

Diseases caused by insufficient estrogen in the body: involution (atrophy) of the vagina and vulva, accompanied by itching, burning and dryness of the vagina, pain during sexual intercourse (dyspareunia), colpitis, vulvitis, cervicitis, leucorrhoea, narrowing of the vagina, ulcers in the vagina and cervix resulting from pressure or stretching, concomitant therapy for vaginal infections and involuntary urination (urinary incontinence), atrophy of the lower urinary tract (urethrocystitis), pre- and postoperative treatment for vaginal operations, diagnosis when the results of a vaginal smear are unclear, if a change in the pattern of cellular composition is observed against the background of signs of involution.

Pharmacological effect

Estrocad has an estrogenic effect.

Pregnancy

Not recommended during pregnancy.

During breastfeeding – with caution, in significantly reduced doses, because Estriol partially passes into breast milk.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, bleeding of unknown etiology in the genital area, malignant tumors of the uterus or mammary glands caused by estrogen deficiency.

Estrocad is used with caution when the first signs of migraine appear, unusually severe headache attacks become more frequent, the first signs of phlebitis or thromboembolic events appear, signs of cholesteric jaundice appear, a sharp increase in blood pressure, and acute visual impairment.

Side Effects

Irritation of the vagina, accompanied by itching, burning and redness.

At the beginning of treatment – spotting bloody discharge from the vagina, soreness and tension of the mammary glands, hypersecretion of cervical mucus, leucorrhoea, fluid retention and associated temporary weight gain, nausea and other mild gastrointestinal disorders, rarely – migraine-like headache, very rarely – a feeling of heaviness in the legs, cramps of the calf muscles.

Storage conditions

The drug should be stored out of the reach of children at a temperature not exceeding 20°C.
