Epigen Intimate Spray – local antiviral and immunostimulating therapeutic and prophylactic agent based on activated glycyrrhizic acid derived from licorice root extract. Spray Epigen Intim helps eliminate discomfort, itching and burning in the intimate area, has antiviral action by inhibiting the reproduction of viruses and prevent their penetration into the cells. Produced by order of Chemigroup France S.A. (France) for LLC “INVAR” (Russia).
Special instructions
The nozzle is washed with boiled water and soap and stored in the supplied plastic packaging. The design of the nozzle allows you to evenly irrigate the cervix and vaginal walls.
When used in a hospital setting, intravaginal irrigation of drugs in speculums can be carried out without a nozzle.
For effective action, prior washing of the affected area is not required before using the drug.
If signs of intolerance appear, use of the drug should be discontinued.
The drug is approved for use during the entire period of pregnancy and lactation.
Possible:
Individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
Rarely: local allergic reactions, including contact dermatitis.
No interaction was detected with the main groups of drugs used for the complex treatment of viral diseases (analgesics and antiseptics, anti-inflammatory and painkillers).
Synergism was found with the simultaneous use of glycyrrhizic acid and other antiviral drugs, in particular derivatives of acyclovir, iodouridine, interferon and other immunomodulators.

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of Epigen Intim.
Recommendations for use
Externally, intravaginally and intraurethrally. Shake the can before use. When using, keep the container in an upright position.
For external use
The drug is applied to the affected surface from a distance of 4-5 cm by pressing the valve 1-2 times, which is the optimal therapeutic dose.
For intravaginal use
The specially supplied attachment should be used. Remove the valve from the spray bottle and put on the nozzle valve. Then insert the nozzle into the vagina with the patient lying on her back; the drug should be injected by pressing the nozzle valve 1-2 times. After use, you must remain in a lying position for 5-10 minutes.
When used by men
In addition to external application, the drug is injected into the external opening of the urethra with 1-2 presses of the spray valve.
For herpes virus infection type I, herpes zoster
Epigen intim is applied 6 times a day to the lesion for 5 days. If the disease persists, the treatment period is extended until the symptoms of the disease completely disappear.
For herpes virus infection type II (genital herpes), cytomegalovirus infection
It is recommended to use 5 times a day for 14 days externally and intravaginally, after stopping the relapse – externally and intravaginally 3 times a day for 10 days.
To prevent relapses of genital herpes and cytomegalovirus infection
Apply externally and intravaginally from day 18-20 of the menstrual cycle until the end of menstruation 2 times a day in the morning and evening.
For papillomavirus infection, the drug is recommended to be used
Before removal of condylomas 3 times a day for the entire period of etiotropic therapy; against the background of destruction – 5 times a day for 10 days or more until healing; to prevent immediate relapses – 3 times a day for 1 month.
To prevent the progression of human papillomavirus infection
It is recommended to use the drug before and after sexual intercourse, as well as in the event of provoking factors: stress, fatigue, respiratory viral infections, microflora disorders, taking antibiotics, cytostatics – 3 times a day intravaginally and externally during the entire period of action of the provoking factors.
For nonspecific vulvovaginitis, bacterial vaginosis and vulvovaginal candidiasis
The drug is recommended to be used intravaginally 3-4 times a day for 7-10 days. If necessary, repeat the course of treatment after 10 days. If provoking factors occur (respiratory viral infections, taking antibiotics, cytostatics), the drug is prescribed 3 times a day intravaginally and externally during the entire period of exposure to provoking factors.
For symptoms of discomfort in the genital area, accompanied by itching, burning and dryness of the mucous membranes (including with insufficiency of ovarian function and after sexual intercourse)
The drug is used 2 times a day (morning and evening) for 2-3 weeks. To prevent discomfort, use regularly after sexual intercourse.
As a prophylactic antiviral agent
The drug is recommended for use before and after sexual intercourse.

Treatment of viral infection caused by the human papillomavirus, incl. asymptomatic isolation of human papillomavirus of high oncogenic risk, as part of combination and complex therapy;
treatment of a viral infection caused by herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2 as part of complex therapy;
treatment of a viral infection caused by the Varicella Zoster virus (shingles) as part of complex therapy;
treatment of viral infection caused by cytomegalovirus as part of complex therapy;
prevention of relapses of viral infections caused by herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2, Varicella Zoster virus, human papillomavirus, cytomegalovirus;
prevention and treatment of genital warts and cervical pathology caused by human papillomavirus, cytomegalovirus;
prevention and treatment of conditions accompanied by a decrease in local immunity, incl. nonspecific vulvovaginitis, candidal vulvovaginitis and bacterial vaginosis, as part of complex therapy;
phenomena of discomfort in the genital area, accompanied by itching, burning and dryness, incl. after sexual intercourse;
phenomena of discomfort in the genital area, accompanied by itching, burning and dryness of the mucous membranes, with insufficient ovarian function.
