Citicoline is a natural endogenous compound that is an intermediate metabolite in the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine, one of the main structural components of the cell membrane.

Indications

– Acute period of ischemic stroke (as part of complex therapy).

– The recovery period of ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes.

– Craniocerebral trauma, acute (as part of complex therapy) and recovery period.

– Cognitive and behavioral disorders in degenerative and vascular diseases of the brain.

Glycerol anhydrous 50.0 mg

Sodium citrate dihydrate 6.0 mg

Litric acid anhydrous to pH 5.0 – 7.0

Injection water to 1.0 ml.

Interaction

Directions for use

A solution for oral administration, it is used orally.

Before use, the drug may be diluted in a small amount of water (100-120 ml or 1/2 cup). It is taken with a meal or between meals.

The recommended dosing regimen

The acute period of ischemic stroke or traumatic brain injury (TBI): 1000 mg (10 ml) every 12 hours. The duration of treatment is at least 6 weeks.

Restorative period of ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, restorative period of CHT, cognitive and behavioral disorders in degenerative and vascular brain diseases: 500-2000 mg (5-20 ml) per day. Dosage and duration of treatment – depending on the severity of the symptoms of the disease.

Elderly patients

Dose adjustment is not required when administering citicoline to elderly patients.

Contraindications

– Hypersensitivity to any of the drug components.

– Do not prescribe to patients with marked vagotonia (high tone of the parasympathetic part of the autonomic nervous system).

In the absence of sufficient clinical data, it is not recommended for use in children under 18 years of age.
