The drug with antibacterial, antiprotozoal, antifungal and anti-inflammatory effect for local use in gynecology.

It is effective against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus group B3, Candida albicans. It has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and anti-exudative effect.

It reduces formation, release and activity of inflammatory mediators (histamine, kinin, prostaglandins, lysosomal enzymes).

Inhibits cell migration to the site of inflammation; reduces vasodilation and increased vascular permeability in the inflammation focus. It reduces the exudation due to its vasoconstrictor action. It promotes fast reduction of burning and itching.

Indications

bacterial vaginitis caused by banal pyogenic flora;
vulvovaginal mycoses caused by fungi of the genus Candida;
vaginitis caused by mixed infection.

Special instructions

In the case of treatment of vaginitis, simultaneous treatment of sexual partners is recommended. Cross-allergenicity and cross-resistance to aminoglycosides may develop.

Use of the drug for more than 9 days is not recommended.

Does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and machinery.

Composition

1 tablet contains:

ornidazole – 500 mg;

neomycin (in the form of sulfate) – 65,000 IU;

lactose monohydrate – 305.4 mg;

potato starch – 90 mg;

calcium stearate – 12 mg;

talc – 18 mg

Contraindications

hypersensitivity to any component of the drug;
children and adolescents up to 18 years of age.

Side Effects

Local reactions: rarely – burning sensation, local irritation, vaginal dryness (especially at the beginning of treatment).

In some cases, allergic reactions are possible.

Interaction

There are no incompatibilities or interactions between the active components of Elzhina and other drugs described.

It is recommended to inform your doctor about concomitant treatment with other drugs.

Overdose

Due to the low degree of absorption of the components into the systemic circulation, an overdose is unlikely.
