The drug with antibacterial, antiprotozoal, antifungal and anti-inflammatory effect for local use in gynecology.

It is effective against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus group B3, Candida albicans. It has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and anti-exudative effect.

It reduces formation, release and activity of inflammatory mediators (histamine, kinin, prostaglandins, lysosomal enzymes).

Inhibits cell migration to the site of inflammation; reduces vasodilation and increased vascular permeability in the inflammation focus. It reduces the exudation due to its vasoconstrictor action. It promotes fast reduction of burning and itching.

ornidazole – 500 mg;

neomycin (in the form of sulfate) – 65000 ME;

prednisolone (in the form of sodium phosphate) – 3 mg;

econazole (in the form of nitrate) – 100 mg

Potato starch, 90 mg;

Colloidal silicon dioxide – 12 mg;

povidone (low-molecular polyvinylpyrrolidone) – 19 mg;

How to take, the dosage

One tablet is inserted daily deep into the vagina in the supine position before going to bed.

The tablet should be held in cold boiled water for 20-30 seconds before insertion into the vagina.

After inserting the tablet, you should lie down for 10-15 minutes.

The average duration of treatment is 6-9 days.

In menstrual bleeding it is administered intravaginally according to the usual schedule.

Interaction

No incompatibilities or interactions of active components of Elgin with other medicinal products have been described.

It is recommended to inform the doctor about concomitant treatment with other medicinal products.

Special Instructions

In the case of treatment of vaginitis, concomitant treatment of sexual partners is recommended. Cross-allergy and cross-resistance to aminoglycosides may develop.

The use of the drug for more than 9 days is not recommended.

It does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms.

Contraindications

Side effects

Local reactions: seldom – a burning sensation, local irritation, vaginal dryness (especially at the beginning of treatment).

In isolated cases, allergic reactions are possible.

Overdose

Due to the low degree of absorption of the components into the systemic bloodstream, overdose is unlikely.
