The herb Echinacea purpurea contains:

water-soluble immunostimulatory polysaccharides (4-O-methylglucuronylarabinoxylans, acidic arabinoramn-galactans);

Essential oils (components include germacrene alcohol, borneol, bornylacetate, pentadeca-8-ene-2-one, germacrene D, caryophyllin, caryophyllin epoxide);

Flavonoids (ferulic acid its derivatives, including cicoric acid, methyl ester of cicoric acid, 2-O-copheoyl-3-O-feruloyl tartaric acid, 2,3-O-diferuloyl tartaric acid, 2-O-copheoyl tartaric acid);

Alkamides;

Polyenes.

It has immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory effects.

Polysaccharides increases phagocytic activity of neutrophils and macrophages and stimulates the production of interleukin-1.

The complex of active substances induces transformation of B-lymphocytes into plasma cells and improves T-helper function.

With inulin, levulose, betaine improves metabolic processes, especially in the liver and kidneys.
