An antitumor agent of plant origin (from the group of taxoids), currently chemically synthesized from the biomass of yew needles.
It accumulates tubulin in microtubules, prevents their disintegration, which disturbs the phase of mitosis and interphase processes in tumor cells.
Indications
As a 1st line treatment in breast cancer, as well as in ineffective therapy with anthracycline drugs;
Non-small cell lung cancer (including ineffectiveness of other anticancer drugs.
Multicellular lung cancer (including ineffectiveness of other antitumor agents);
Cancer of the head and neck; ovarian cancer.

Composition
Concentrate for preparation of solution for infusion as a clear liquid, colorless to light yellow.
1 ml docetaxel (anhydrous) 10 mg
Associates:
Polysorbate 80 – 80 mg,
Macrogol 300 – 648 mg,
citric acid anhydrous – 4 mg,
ethanol 96% – 275.9 mg.
How to take, the dosage
It is set individually, depending on the indication and stage of the disease, the state of the hematopoiesis system, the scheme of anti-tumor therapy.
Interaction
Clinical data on drug interactions of docetaxel are limited.
Special Instructions
Docetaxel should not be used if bilirubin is greater than IUF in combination with hepatic transaminase activity 1.5 times IUF and alkaline phosphatase activity 2.5 times IUF.
Before starting therapy, patients are treated with oral GCS. The chance of allergic reactions and edema is significantly increased in patients who have not received prior therapy.
The peripheral blood count should be systematically monitored during treatment to determine the degree of myelodepression.
Contraindications
Neutropenia less than 1500/μL, history of hypersensitivity to docetaxel, pregnancy, lactation.
Side effects
Hematopoietic system disorders: neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, anemia.
Digestive system disorders:nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, increased serum levels of transaminases and bilirubin; rarely – stomatitis.
Nervous system disorders: paresthesias, hyperesthesia.
Muscular system disorders:arthralgia, myalgia.
Allergic reactions:possible skin manifestations; rarely – bronchospasm.
Dermatological reactions:cutaneous rash, mainly in the feet, palms, but also in the upper extremities, face, chest, often accompanied by itching, sometimes with subsequent desquamation; hypo- or hyperpigmentation of nails and onycholisis; alopecia.
Water-electrolyte metabolism: fluid retention in the body, including ascites, peripheral edema.
Cardiovascular system disorders: arterial hypotension, disorders of heart rhythm.
