Dimexide is an external remedy for local use for inflammatory and some other diseases (mainly diseases of the musculoskeletal system).

The drug has the ability to penetrate through biological membranes, including skin barriers.

The reason for using in inflammatory diseases of the musculoskeletal system is its analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect.

The drug has a moderate antiseptic and fibrinolytic effect. It enhances penetration through the skin of a number of medicinal substances. Dimexide is low-toxic.

Indications

Inflammatory and painful phenomena during complex therapy of rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, deforming osteoarthritis, arthropathy, as well as bruises, sprains, traumatic infiltrates, purulent wounds (which are not cleaned or are poorly cleaned by conventional treatment methods), burns, phlegmon of various locations, etc.

Also used in the treatment of erythema nodosum.

In combination with heparin, it is used for thrombophlebitis, in combination with antimicrobial drugs (syntomycin liniment, etc.) – in the complex treatment of systemic scleroderma, furunculosis, erysipelas, acne, etc.

Special instructions

The appearance of sharp redness and itching indicates increased sensitivity.

If allergic reactions occur during treatment with the drug, antihistamines are prescribed.
