Cough pills have a bronchodilator effect.

The herb of thermopsis has expectorant action, having a moderate irritant effect on the mucous membrane receptors of the stomach, reflexively increases the secretion of bronchial glands.

The alkaloids contained in the herb of thermopsis (cytisine, methylcytisine, pachycardine, ana-hirin, thermopsidine) have a stimulating effect on the respiratory and, in high doses, on the vomiting centers.

Sodium bicarbonate stimulates bronchial gland secretion and helps reduce sputum viscosity.

Indications

Respiratory tract diseases accompanied by cough with sputum difficult to detach (tracheitis, bronchitis) – in the complex therapy.

Composition

1 tablet contains:

The active ingredients:

thermopsis lanceolate herb powder – 0.0067 g,

Sodium bicarbonate – 0.250 g;

Auxiliary substances:

potato starch,

talc.

How to take, the dosage

Ingestion. Adults are prescribed 1 tablet 3 times a day for 3-5 days.

Children over 12 years of age are prescribed 1/2-1 tablet 3 times a day for 3-5 days.

The duration of treatment is according to the doctor’s recommendation.

Interaction

Adsorbents, astringents, and coating agents may reduce absorption of the alkaloids in the thermopsis herb in the gastrointestinal tract.

Cough pills should not be used at the same time as medications containing codeine and other anti-cough medications, as this makes it difficult to cough up sputum.

The administration of copious amounts of warm drinking is recommended to improve the liquefaction and separation of sputum.

Special Instructions

In order to improve the liquefaction and separation of sputum it is recommended to administer plenty of warm fluids.

The use of the drug does not affect the performance of potentially hazardous activities requiring increased attention and quick psychomotor reactions (driving, working with moving machinery, work of dispatcher and operator).

Contraindications

High sensitivity to the drug components; peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer (acute phase).

Side effects

Nausea.

Overdose

Symptoms: nausea, vomiting.

Treatment: symptomatic.

Pregnancy use

Cough pills are contraindicated in children under 12 years of age, with caution during pregnancy and lactation
