Indications
Recommended as a biologically active food supplement for patients with diabetes – an additional source of vitamins A, C, E, group B (B1, B2, B6, B12, calcium pantothenate), folic acid, nicotinamide, rutin, lipoic acid, biotin, mineral elements (selenium, zinc, magnesium, chromium), a source of ginkgo biloba flavonoids.
Active components
The action of COMPLIVIT® DIABET is due to the properties of its constituent components (according to literature data):
Vitamin A (retinol acetate) is involved in the formation of visual pigments and is necessary for twilight and color vision; for bone growth, regulation of epithelial division and differentiation. Its antioxidant activity prevents the development of late complications of diabetes.
Vitamin E (α-tocopherol acetate) is involved in the processes of tissue respiration, the metabolism of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, affects the function of the sex and other endocrine glands, and slows down the aging process of body tissues. Vitamin E has pronounced antioxidant activity, providing protection to cell membranes and preventing the development of complications of diabetes mellitus.
Vitamin B1 (thiamine hydrochloride) plays an important role in protein, carbohydrate and fat metabolism, as well as in the synthesis of nucleic acids, proteins and lipids. It has neurotropic activity, participates in the conduction of nerve impulses and the regeneration of nervous tissue, playing an important role in and slowing the progression of diabetic neuropathy.
Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) is involved in tissue respiration, in all types of metabolism (carbohydrate, protein, fat), in the synthesis of erythropoietin, hemoglobin, and is necessary for the normal functioning of the lens and tissues most sensitive to lack of oxygen (brain); protects the retina from ultraviolet radiation.
Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride) takes part in protein metabolism and the synthesis of neurotransmitters and is necessary for the normal functioning of the central and peripheral nervous system.
Nicotinamide (vitamin PP) is involved in the processes of tissue respiration, fat and carbohydrate metabolism.
Folic acid takes part in the synthesis of amino acids, nucleotides, nucleic acids; necessary for normal erythropoiesis, improves the regeneration of damaged tissues.
Calcium pantothenate (vitamin B5) is involved in carbohydrate and fat metabolism, the synthesis of steroid hormones, improves the energy supply of myocardial contractile function, accelerates regeneration processes, and participates in the transmission of nerve impulses.
Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) is involved in the synthesis of nucleotides and is an important factor in normal growth, hematopoiesis and development of epithelial cells. Cyanocobalamin is involved in the formation of myelin, which forms the sheath of nerve fibers. Increases the ability of tissues to regenerate.
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is involved in the regulation of redox processes, carbohydrate metabolism, blood clotting, tissue regeneration; increases the body’s resistance to infections. Normalizes capillary permeability, participates in the synthesis of steroid hormones, collagen, as well as in immune reactions. Strengthens the detoxification and protein-forming functions of the liver, increases the synthesis of prothrombin.
Rutin has antioxidant properties and has an angioprotective effect: it reduces the rate of water filtration in capillaries and their permeability to proteins. Helps slow the development of diabetic retinopathy, prevent microthrombosis and other retinal lesions of vascular origin.
Lipoic acid is an antioxidant, participates in the regulation of carbohydrate metabolism, helps reduce the concentration of glucose in the blood and increase the glycogen content in the liver, as well as overcome insulin resistance. Improves the trophism of neurons and reduces the manifestations of diabetic neuropathy.
Biotin promotes cell growth, participates in the synthesis of fatty acids, and in the absorption of other B vitamins. Biotin has an insulin-like effect, reducing blood glucose levels. In diabetes mellitus, there is a disturbance in biotin metabolism and, as a consequence, its deficiency.
Zinc is part of many enzymes and is involved in all types of metabolism. Strengthens the effect of insulin. Zinc is involved in cell division and differentiation, stimulates skin regeneration processes and hair growth, and also has an immunomodulatory effect.
Magnesium is involved in the regulation of neuromuscular excitability, reduces neuronal excitability and slows down neuromuscular transmission, and is also involved in many enzymatic reactions.
Chromium is involved in the regulation of blood glucose levels and enhances the action of insulin in all metabolic processes.
Selenium is a trace element found in all cells of the body. Provides antioxidant protection to cell membranes, potentiates the effect of vitamin E, and is necessary for the functioning of the immune system. In combination with vitamins A, E and C, it has an antioxidant effect and improves the body’s adaptive characteristics under conditions of exposure to extreme factors.
Ginkgo biloba extract improves cerebral circulation and supply of oxygen and glucose to the brain, helps normalize mediator processes in the central nervous system. It has a dose-dependent vasoregulatory effect, regulating the blood filling of blood vessels. Improves metabolism in organs and tissues, increases the utilization of oxygen and glucose, and also has an antihypoxic effect. It has a positive effect on peripheral circulatory disorders, including diabetic microangiopathy.
