Clion-D 100 is a combined drug with antibacterial, antiprotozoal and antifungal action for intravaginal use.
Metronidazole, a derivative of nitro-5-imidazole. Its mechanism of action consists in biochemical reduction of the 5-nitrogroup by intracellular transport proteins of anaerobic microorganisms and protozoa. The reduced 5-nitrogroup of metronidazole interacts with the DNA of the microbial cell, inhibiting the synthesis of their nucleic acids, which leads to the death of the microorganisms.
Metronidazole is an effective broad-spectrum antimicrobial and antiprotozoal agent.
Active against: Trichomonas vaginalis, Giardia intestinalis, Entamoeba histolytica, Lamblia intestinalis, Obligate anaerobes (spore- and non-spore-forming): Bacteroides spp, Bacteroides fragilis, Bacteroides ovatus, Bacteroides distasonis, Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron, Bacteroides vulgatus, Fusobacterium spp, Clostridium spp, Peptostreptococcus spp.
Facultative anaerobes and obligate aerobes are resistant to metronidazole.
Miconazole has antifungal action against dermatophytes, yeast fungi and antibacterial action against certain gram-positive bacteria.
Miconazole inhibits ergosterol biosynthesis and changes the composition of other lipid components in the membrane, which leads to necrosis of fungal cells. Miconazole eliminates the itching that often accompanies infections caused by yeast fungi and dermatophytes. It does not change the composition of the microflora and the pH of the vagina.
Indications
The local treatment of trichomoniasis, candidiasis and nonspecific vaginitis.
Active ingredient

Metronidazole 100 mg,
Miconazole nitrate 100 mg

Sodium lauryl sulfate,
silicon dioxide colloid,
magnesium stearate,
povidone,
sodium bicarbonate,

How to take, the dosage
With trichomonas vaginitis is prescribed 1 vaginal tablet once a day for 10 days in combination with oral metronidazole.
With non-specific vaginitis or candida vaginitis is prescribed 1 vaginal tablet 2 times a day for 10 days, if necessary – in combination with oral metronidazole.
The rules of administration of the drug:
Previously releasing the tablet from the contoured package, soak it in boiled cool water and insert it deep into the vagina.
Interaction
Concomitant use of metronidazole and disulfiram may cause depression of consciousness and development of psychiatric disorders.
Concomitant use of metronidazole and ethanol (or ethanol-containing drugs) may cause disulfiram-like reactions.
In concomitant use with warfarin and other indirect anticoagulants, metronidazole increases their effect, which leads to prolongation of the prothrombin time.
The effect of metronidazole may be reduced under the influence of barbiturates because its metabolism in the liver is accelerated.
Cimetidine inhibits metabolism of metronidazole, which may lead to increased serum concentrations of metronidazole and an increased risk of adverse reactions.
The concomitant use of Clion-D 100 with lithium preparations may increase the plasma concentration of the latter.
Special Instructions
At the time of use, it is recommended to abstain from sexual intercourse.
The concomitant treatment of the sexual partner with oral metronidazole is advisable, regardless of whether the sexual partner has a manifestation of the disease.
Metronidazole may immobilize treponemes, resulting in a false-positive TPI test (Nelson’s test).
Do not drink alcohol while using the drug (danger of disulfiram-like reactions).
Laboratory monitoring: Peripheral blood counts should be monitored if there is a history of changes in peripheral blood, as well as when the drug is used in high doses and/or for a long time.
Impact on driving and operating ability: Patients should be aware of the possibility of dizziness with Clion-D 100, which may impair the ability to perform work requiring increased attention.
Hypatic disorders: Contraindicated in liver failure (when prescribing the drug in high doses).
