Clindacin, vaginal suppositories 100 mg 3 pcs

CLINDACIN is an antibiotic of the lincosamide group with a broad spectrum of antimicrobial action. Mechanism of action is due to binding to 50 S subunit of ribosomal membrane and inhibition of protein synthesis in microbial cell. It has a bacteriostatic action. Bactericidal action is possible against a number of Gram-positive cocci.

Active against Staphylococcus spp. (including Staphylococcus epidermidis producing and non-producing penicillinase), Streptococcus spp. (excluding Enterococcus faecalis), Streptococcus pneumoniae, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Mycoplasma spp, anaerobic and microaerophilic gram-positive cocci (including Peptococcus spp. and Peptostreptococcus spp.), Clostridium perfringens, Clostridium tetani, Bacteroides spp. (including Bacteroides fragilis and Prevotella melaninogenica), Fusobacterium spp., Propionibacterium spp., Eubacterium spp. and Actinomyces israelii.

Most strains of Clostridium perfringens are sensitive to clindamycin, but other species of Clostridium spp. (including Clostridium sporogenes, Clostridium tertium) are resistant to its action; therefore, in infections caused by Clostridium spp.

Cross-resistance exists between clindamycin and lincomycin.

How to take, the dosage

Prescribe intravaginally 1 suppository 1 time/day just before going to bed, for 3-7 days in a row.

Before use, one suppository is loosened from the contour pack, the film is cut along the contour of the suppository, and the suppository is inserted, if possible, deep into the vagina in a supine position.

Interaction

Clindacin® enhances the effect of rifampicin drugs, aminoglycosides – streptomycin, gentamicin.

It increases myorelaxation caused by n-cholinoblockers.

Clindacin® is incompatible with erythromycin, ampicillin, diphenylhydantoin derivatives, barbiturates, aminophylline, calcium gluconate and magnesium sulfate.

Contraindications

– I trimester of pregnancy;

– hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
