Beta-alanine is an amino acid. It counteracts the acute release of histamine but has no antihistamine activity due to the lack of blockade of H₁ receptors.

Beta-alanine has a direct effect on cutaneous peripheral vasodilation, which causes vegetative “flushes”, sensation of heat, heat, headache. At the physiological level, vasomotor “flushes” are caused by the activity of thermoregulatory centers in the hypothalamus, leading to peripheral cutaneous vasodilation.

This is a consequence of the reactions that occur when the balance of cerebral neurotransmitters is disturbed following cessation of hormone secretion by the ovaries. The drug promotes saturation of peripheral neurotransmitter receptors which are involved in this process.

Beta-alanine 400 mg.

Associates:

magnesium stearate – 8.0 mg,

glycerol palmitil stearate – 31.2 mg,

hydrated silicon – 36 mg,

wheat starch – 304.80 mg.

How to take, the dosage

1-2 tablets daily. The dose can be increased to 3 tablets a day.

The duration of treatment is from 5-10 days until the “flushes” disappear.

If symptoms recur, the treatment should be repeated.

Interaction

There are no clinically significant interactions of the drug with other drugs.

Special Instructions

There is no tolerance to the drug; the course of treatment may be prescribed for the entire period of vasomotor clinical disorders.

Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and other mechanisms requiring increased concentration

There are no data on the negative effect of the drug on the ability to drive and other vehicles.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Hypersensitivity or intolerance to gluten (due to the presence of wheat starch in the drug).

Side effects

Very rarely: skin allergic reactions (itching, rash).

very rarely: transient paresthesias, usually in the extremities.

Overdose

No cases of overdose of the drug have been reported.

In case of overdose of the drug, symptomatic treatment should be administered.
