Clarisense is an anti-exudative, antipruritic, antihistamine, anti-allergic.
Blocker of peripheral H1-histamine receptors of the II generation. Reduces capillary permeability, has antiedematous and moderate antispasmodic effect.
Pharmacodynamics
Does not have a sedative effect and is not addictive.
Pharmacokinetics
It is rapidly absorbed, the binding to plasma proteins is up to 97%. It does not penetrate through the BBB. Cmax is reached after 8-12 hours. T1/2 is 3-20 hours, on average 8.4 hours. During biotransformation an active metabolite is formed – dexarboethoxyloratadine. The drug and its metabolites are excreted in the urine and feces.
Indications
Allergic rhinitis (seasonal and year-round) and conjunctivitis, acute urticaria, Quincke’s edema, allergic reactions to insect bites, itchy dermatoses (contact allergodermatitis, atopic dermatosis, chronic eczema), pseudoallergic reactions.

How to take, the dosage
Adults and children over 12 years of age are prescribed 10 mg (1 tablet or 10 ml syrup) once a day.
Children of 2 to 12 years of age with body weight less than 30 kg – 5 mg (1/2 tablet or 5 ml) once a day, with body weight over 30 kg – 10 mg (1 tablet or 10 ml syrup) once a day.
The drug Claricens is taken orally with a small amount of water, regardless of meals.
Interaction
Ethanol reduces the effectiveness of loratadine.
Eritromycin, cimetidine, ketoconazole increase plasma concentrations of loratadine without causing clinical manifestations and without affecting ECG.
Microsomal oxidation inducers (phenytoin, barbiturates, zixorin, rifampicin, phenylbutazone, tricyclic antidepressants) decrease the effectiveness of loratadine.
Special Instructions
In case of hepatic impairment the drug is prescribed every other day.
Impact on driving and operating machinery
At the time of treatment, one should refrain from potentially hazardous activities requiring increased concentration and quick psychomotor reactions.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, phenylketonuria, pregnancy, breastfeeding.
Side effects
The undesirable effects listed below have been reported with a frequency of â¥2% and approximately the same frequency as with placebo.
CNS disorders: in adults – headache, fatigue, somnolence; in children – headache, nervousness, sedation.
Digestive system disorders: in adults – dry mouth, nausea, gastritis, liver function disorders.
Cardiovascular system: in adults – palpitations, tachycardia.
Allergic reactions: in adults – rash, anaphylaxis.
Others: alopecia (in adults).
Overdose
Symptoms: drowsiness, tachycardia, headache.
Treatment: induction of vomiting, gastric lavage, administration of activated charcoal, symptomatic therapy.
