Pharmacological properties

Pharmacological effect of the drug is due to the complex of constituent biologically active substances of Artichoke Field. Cyanarin in combination with phenolic acids has a choleretic and hepatoprotective effect. Contained in artichoke ascorbic acid, carotene, vitamins B1 and B2, inulin help reduce blood cholesterol levels and normalize metabolism. Chophytol increases diuresis and increases the excretion of urea.

Indications

The drug is used in the treatment of biliary dyskinesia of hypokinetic type, chronic acalculous cholecystitis, chronic hepatitis, liver cirrhosis; chronic nephritis, chronic renal failure.

The active ingredient:

Artichoke field (Cynara Scolymus L.)

Leaves fresh extract thick aqueous (1:2) 20 g

Excipients:

Ethanol 96% 2.8 g,

Orange flavoring 2.8 g,

Glycerol 0.18 g,

Methyl parahydroxybenzoate 0.092 g,

Propyl parahydroxybenzoate 0.046 g,

Purified water to 100 ml.

How to take, the dosage

The drug is taken orally before meals, diluted in a small amount of water. Adults: 2.5-5.0 ml of the solution 3 times a day.

The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks.

Children: Depending on the age the drug is prescribed in a dose of ¼ to ½ dose used in adults.

The drug should be used according to the indication, route of administration, and dosage shown in the instructions. If there is no improvement after treatment, or if symptoms get worse or new symptoms develop, you should talk to your doctor.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, cholelithiasis, obstruction (obturation) of the biliary tract, acute liver, kidney, biliary and urinary tract diseases, severe hepatocellular insufficiency.

Cautions

Because of its ethyl alcohol content, caution should be exercised when using the drug in cases of alcoholism, head injury, brain disease, and epilepsy.

Side effects

Allergic reactions are possible, with prolonged use of the drug in high doses, diarrhea may develop.

Overdose

In case of overdose, an increase in dose-dependent side effects of the drug is possible. Treatment: symptomatic. In case of overdose consult a physician.

Pregnancy use

The use of the drug Hofitol during pregnancy and lactation is possible only with the prescription and under medical supervision.
