Stimulator of cartilage tissue regeneration (chondroprotector).

High-molecular-weight mucopolysaccharide derived from the cartilage of the trachea of cattle.

It affects metabolic processes in hyaline and fibrous cartilage, reduces degenerative changes in the cartilage of joints, stimulates the biosynthesis of glycosaminoglycans.

Promotes regeneration of cartilage surfaces of joints and joint capsule, increases production of intra-articular fluid. Slows bone resorption and reduces calcium loss, accelerates bone regeneration processes.

The treatment with Chondroitin-ACOS reduces pain and improves mobility of affected joints.

Therapeutic effect is retained for a long time after the end of the course of treatment.

Indications

Degenerative diseases of the joints and spine: osteoarthritis, osteochondrosis of the spine.

How to take, the dosage

Overly, during or after meals, with at least 1/2 cup of water.

Adults and adolescents from 15 years of age are prescribed 1 g/day (2 capsules 2 times a day).

The recommended duration of the initial course of treatment is 6 months; period of action of the drug after discontinuation is 3-5 months depending on the location and stage of the disease; the duration of repeated courses of treatment is determined by the doctor.

Interaction

In concomitant use of the drug with other drugs may increase the effect of indirect anticoagulants, antiaggregants, fibrinolytic agents.

Special Instructions

With caution should be administered to patients with bleeding (including a history of bleeding).

Contraindications

– children under 15 years of age;
– hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation Chondroitin-ACOS;

The drug should be used with caution in patients with bleeding and tendency to bleeding, with thrombophlebitis.

Side effects

Rarely – allergic reactions (urticaria, erythema, skin itching), nausea, vomiting.

Overdose

Symptoms: in rare cases gastrointestinal symptoms of overdose are possible: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea; with prolonged use of excessive doses (over 3 g/day) hemorrhagic rashes are possible.

Treatment: symptomatic.

Pregnancy use

The drug is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation due to insufficient clinical data.
