Chondrogard, 100 mg/ml 1 ml 10 pcs

High-molecular-weight mucopolysaccharide that affects metabolic processes in hyaline cartilage. It reduces degenerative changes in the cartilage of joints, accelerates the processes of its restoration, stimulates the synthesis of proteoglycans. Treatment with the drug reduces pain and improves mobility of affected joints.

In the treatment of degenerative changes in joints with the development of secondary synovitis, a positive effect can be observed after 2-3 weeks after the start of the drug administration: pain in the joints reduces, clinical manifestations of reactive synovitis disappear, the amount of movement in affected joints increases. Therapeutic effect is retained for a long time after the end of the course of treatment.

Pharmacokinetics

After intramuscular injection of chondroitin sulfate rapidly distributes. As early as 30 minutes after injection it is detected in the blood in significant concentrations. Maximum concentration (Cmax) of chondroitin sulfate in plasma is reached after 1 hour, then it gradually decreases within 2 days.

Chondroitin sulfate accumulates mainly in the cartilage of the joints. Synovial membrane is not an obstacle for penetration of the drug into the joint cavity. The experiments showed that 15 min after intramuscular injection chondroitin sulfate is found in synovial fluid, then penetrates into the articular cartilage where its Cmax is reached after 48 h.

How to take, the dosage

The drug is administered intramuscularly 100 mg every other day.

If tolerated well, the dose is increased to 200 mg, starting with the fourth injection.

The course of treatment is 25-30 injections. If necessary, it is possible to repeat the course of treatment in 6 months.

For the formation of the bone callus the course of treatment is 3-4 weeks (10-14 injections every other day).

Interaction

It is possible to increase the effect of indirect anticoagulants, antiaggregants, fibrinolytic agents, which requires more frequent monitoring of blood clotting when used together.

Pediatric use

There are currently no data on the efficacy and safety of chondroitin sulfate in children.

Contraindications

Side effects

Allergic reactions: skin itching, erythema, urticaria, dermatitis, hemorrhages at the injection site.

Pregnancy use

It is contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation.
