Cerebrolyzate increases the synthesis of proteins in nerve cells, increases the resistance of brain tissue to intoxication, hypoxia, hypoglycemia, mechanical trauma.

The drug activates integrative processes in the central nervous system, improves concentration, memorization and reproduction of information.

Pharmacokinetics

Pharmacokinetic analysis is difficult due to the complex composition of cerebrolysate, which includes the sum of free amino acids and peptides.

Composition

Cerebrolysate is hydrolysate of bovine brain and contains free amino acids and peptides.

The amino acid composition of Cerebrolysate varies within the following limits in milligrams per milliliter (mg/ml):

L-lysine, 1.9±0.95;

L-histidine, 0.6±0.30;

L-arginine, 1.7±0.90;

Asparagic acid, 1.8±0.80;

L-threonine, 1.4±0.70;

L-alanine, 3.5±1.75;

L-proline, 1.2±0.50;

Glycine, 1.4±0.70;

How to take, the dosage

The drug is used as prescribed by the doctor.

Cerebrolysate is administered intramuscularly in 1-5 ml daily or every other day, the course of treatment is 20-30 injections.

The course of treatment with Cerebrolyzate may be repeated after a 3-6 month break.

Special Instructions

Particular caution should be exercised when using in patients with acute renal failure. The drug is prescribed with caution in allergic diathesis, large convulsive seizures.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity.

With caution in: acute renal failure, allergic diathesis, generalized seizures, pregnancy (I trimester).

Side effects

Injections of the drug are painful, in some cases there may be tissue irritation at the injection site.

In case of hypertension of the II-III degree during treatment with Cerebrolyzate there may be increase in blood pressure.
