A drug with antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and tissue regeneration improving effect for external use.

Pharmacological action

Chlorhexidine is an antiseptic that is active against bacteria normally present on the skin or ingested through wound contamination.

Dexpanthenol is quickly converted into pantothenic acid in skin cells, which plays an important role in both the formation and healing of damaged skin.

The product reduces pain through its cooling effect. When applied to the surface of wounds, it protects against infection and promotes healing. It is easy to apply and wash off. The cream is non-greasy and non-sticky.

Pharmacokinetics

There are no data on the pharmacokinetics of Bepanten® Plus.

Indications

– Treatment and management of minor wounds with risk of infection, such as abrasions, scratches, minor cuts and scrapes, cracks, minor burns;

Infected superficial skin lesions;

Cracked nipples during the breastfeeding period.

In chronic wounds, such as trophic ulcers of the shin, bedsores, and surgical wounds.

Active ingredient

Composition

The cream is for external use.

1 g of the cream contains:

Active substances:

dexpanthenol – 50mg;

chlorhexidine hydrochloride – 5 mg;

Auxiliary substances:

D,L-pantolactone,

cetyl alcohol,

stearyl alcohol,

lanolin,

White soft paraffin,

liquid paraffin,

polyoxyl 40 stearate,

purified water.

How to take, the dosage

Applied in a thin layer once or several times a day on a previously cleaned wound surface or on inflamed skin areas. Wounds can be treated either openly or with bandages.

Interaction

As a precautionary measure regarding possible interaction (antagonism or inactivation), you should not use Bepanten Plus simultaneously with other antiseptics.

Special Instructions

Do not use simultaneously with other antiseptics. Chlorhexidine is incompatible with soaps and other anionic compounds.

Avoid contact with mucous membranes. Large, badly soiled and deep wounds as well as bite and stab wounds need medical attention (tetanus hazard).

– Hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the drug;

– Heavy, deep and heavily soiled wounds.

Side effects

Allergic reactions such as contact dermatitis, allergic dermatitis, erythema, eczema, itching, rash, urticaria, anaphylactic reaction are possible.

Overdose

There are no data on overdose of Bepanten Plus.

Pregnancy use

It can be used during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.
