Tissue regeneration stimulant.

Pharmacological action

Dexpanthenol is quickly converted in the skin cells into pantothenic acid, which is part of coenzyme A and plays an important role both in the formation and healing of damaged skin. It stimulates skin regeneration and normalizes cell metabolism.

Pharmacokinetics

Dexpanthenol is quickly absorbed by the skin (quickly absorbed) and converted to pantothenic acid.

Binds with plasma proteins (mainly with albumin and β-globulin).

Pantothenic acid is not metabolized in the body and is excreted unchanged.

Indications

Bepanten is used in adults and children for:

– prevention and treatment of dry skin when the integrity of its integument is violated;

– caring for the mammary glands during breastfeeding (treatment of dry nipples and painful cracks);

– treatment and care of baby’s skin (diaper rash, diaper dermatitis);

– activation of the skin healing process for minor injuries, minor burns, abrasions, skin irritations, chronic ulcers, bedsores, cracks and skin grafts.

Active ingredients:

dexpanthenol 50 mg.

Excipients:

protegin X – 50 mg,

cetyl alcohol – 18 mg,

stearyl alcohol – 12 mg,

white beeswax – 40 mg,

lanolin – 250 mg,

soft white paraffin – 130 mg,

almond oil – 50 mg,

liquid paraffin – 150 mg,

purified water – up to 1000 mg.

Pregnancy

Bepanten® ointment can be used in children, during pregnancy, and during breastfeeding.

Contraindications

Contraindications to the use of bepanthen are:

hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Side Effects

When using the drug, the following are possible: Allergic reactions: urticaria, itching.

Interaction

Cases of interaction with other drugs are unknown.

Overdose

Dexpanthenol, even in very high doses, is well tolerated and does not cause any adverse reactions. To date, no cases of overdose have been registered. Cases of hypervitaminosis are unknown.

Storage conditions

Store Bepanten out of the reach of children at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.

3 years.
