Belosalik, 20 ml spray

Belosalik® lotion has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, antiedematous, anti-allergic, antiproliferative, immunosuppressive, keratolytic, antimicrobial, antifungal effects.

Betamethasone dipropionate is a synthetic glucocorticosteroid (GCS) with anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antipruritic and vasoconstrictive effects. When applied to the skin surface it narrows vessels, relieves itching, reduces release of inflammatory mediators (from eosinophils and mast cells), interleukins 1 and 2, gamma-interferon (from lymphocytes and macrophages), inhibits hyaluronidase activity and reduces vascular wall permeability.

It interacts with specific receptors in the cell cytoplasm, stimulating the synthesis of mRNA, inducing the formation of proteins, including lipocortin, which mediate cellular effects. Lipocortin inhibits phospholipase A2, blocks the release of arachidonic acid and biosynthesis of endoperoxides, prostaglandins, leukotrienes (contributing to inflammation, allergy and other pathological processes).

Salicylic acid, due to its keratolytic effect, cleanses lesion areas of scales, promotes penetration of betamethasone into the skin and maintains the skin acidic environment, preventing the development of bacterial and fungal infection.

1 g of the solution for external use contains:

The active substance: betamethasone in the form of dipropionate – 0.64 mg (0.064 %), corresponding to 0.500 mg of betamethasone and salicylic acid – 20 mg (2 %);

Auxiliary substances: diisodium edetate – 0.300 mg, hypromellose 4000 cPs – 5.000 mg, sodium hydroxide – 5.000 mg, isopropanol – 392.000 mg, water – 577.060 mg.

How to take, the dosage

Externally.

Bottle with spray nozzle:

The Belosalik Lotion is sprayed twice daily on the affected scalp and hair, using a handy extended spray nozzle. In some cases, a single application daily is sufficient.

Before spraying, shake the bottle, place it upright and then move the tip of the spray head towards the affected area of hair and press down on the sprayer with your index finger until it stops. Make the desired number of sprays on the affected areas of the scalp.

The duration of the course of treatment is individual and is usually carried out until the main symptoms of the disease disappear, but is usually limited to 3-4 weeks. If a longer course of therapy is necessary, it is recommended to use the drug less frequently, for example, every other day, and to consult a specialist.

Special Instructions

Belosalik® Lotion is for external use only.

Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes and use in the anogenital area.

The use of the drug under occlusive dressings is not recommended unless necessary. If fungal or bacterial microflora develops on the skin, additional use of an antibacterial or antifungal agent is necessary.

Belosalik® lotion in the form of a solution for external use is particularly suitable for use on the scalp. The solution is easy to apply to the surface of the skin, does not stick to or dry out the hair, leaves no visible residue and has a cooling effect on the skin.

Influence on driving and operating ability
There are no data on adverse effects of Belosalik® Lotion on driving and operating ability.

Contraindications

Side effects

The side effects are usually reversible and mild. Skin side effects: hypersensitivity reaction (itching, burning or redness), acne-like changes, hypopigmentation, stretch marks, skin atrophy, hypertrichosis, secondary skin infections.

Long-term continuous uncontrolled use and application to large areas of skin: telangiectasia, systemic side effects of GCS or salicylates.

In case of hypersensitivity or adverse events, the therapy should be discontinued and a physician consulted.
