Azaran is a third-generation broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic for parenteral administration.
Azaran acts bactericidally by inhibiting the synthesis of the cell membrane of microorganisms.
Acetylates membrane-bound transpeptidases, thus disrupting cross-linking of peptidoglycans necessary for the strength and rigidity of the cell wall.
Resistant against b-lactamases produced by most Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
It is active against Gram-positive aerobic bacteria. Methicillin-resistant strains are resistant to the drug.
