Strengthening the cardiovascular systemAsparkam Avexima is used in the complex treatment of such conditions/diseases as: hypokalemia; coronary heart disease; chronic heart failure; overdose of cardiac glycosides, myocardial infarction and other heart rhythm disorders.

Interaction

Pharmacodynamic: co-administration with potassium-saving diuretics (triamterene, spironolactone), beta-adrenoblockers, cyclosporine, heparin, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs increases the risk of hyperkalemia up to arrhythmia and asystole.

The use of potassium preparations together with glucocorticosteroids eliminates hypokalemia caused by the latter. Unwanted effects of cardiac glycosides are reduced due to the content of potassium ions. Due to the content of magnesium ions it reduces the effect of neomycin, polymyxin B, detracycline and streptomycin.

May increase neuromuscular blockade caused by depolarizing myorelaxants (atracurium besylate, decamethonium bromide, suxamethonium (chloride, bromide, iodide). Calcitriol increases the concentration of magnesium ions in blood plasma, calcium preparations reduce the effect of magnesium.

Pharmacokinetic: astringents and coating agents reduce absorption of the drug in the gastrointestinal tract (3-hour interval between their intake must be observed).

Potassium ion plasma levels need to be monitored.

Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and work requiring increased concentration

There have been no clinical studies to evaluate the effect of the drug on the ability to drive and operate vehicles.

Contraindications

– hypersensitivity to the drug;

– impaired amino acid metabolism;

– acute and chronic renal failure;

– hyperkalemia;

– hypermagnesemia;

– insufficiency of adrenal cortex;

– AV conduction disorder (AV-blockade type I-III.

– severe myasthenia gravis;

– hemolysis;

– arterial hypotension (systolic blood pressure less than 90 mm Hg);

– age less than 18 years.

With caution: pregnancy, lactation.

Side effects

Overdose

Symptoms: hyperkalemia, hypermagnesemia.

Treatment: intravenous calcium chloride, if necessary – hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
