Ascorbic acid preparations are used for preventive and therapeutic purposes:

How to take, the dosage

Inside, after meals.

For therapeutic purposes, if not prescribed otherwise by the doctor, ascorbic acid is prescribed at 500 to 1000 mg/day in two doses (children over one year – 250 to 500 mg/day). The maximum recommended dose is 3000 mg per day in three doses. The drug is taken for 3 to 5 days. If you take the drug for a longer time, it is necessary to consult with your doctor.

For prophylactic purposes (in the winter-spring period and with malnutrition) – 50 – 100 mg/day (in children – 25 mg/day).

Contraindications

The drug is contraindicated in diabetes mellitus, patients with high blood clotting, thrombophlebitis and tendency to thrombosis, hypersensitivity.

In pregnancy it may be used with taking into consideration the general contraindications.

In pregnancy and lactation – 300 mg/day for 10 to 15 days, then 100 mg/day.

The chewable tablets should be chewed or kept in the mouth until complete absorption, preferably immediately after a meal with liquids.
