Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.

Pharmic action: < br>

Anthraquinoline derivative, a diacetylated reine derivative. Metabolized to the active metabolite, Rein, inhibits the activity of interleukin-1, which plays an important role in the development of inflammation and cartilage degradation in osteoarthritis.

Inhibits the activity of other cytokines (including interleukin-6, TNF-alpha). The action develops after 2-4 weeks.

Pharmacokinetics: < br>

Highly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, bioavailability is increased by 25% if concomitantly eaten.
TCmax – 144 min. Cmax is 3.15 mg/l after a single use of 50 mg; Cmax is increased after multiple use due to the drug cumulation. It is completely deacetylated to reine. Rein’s binding to proteins (albumin) is almost 100%. Rein penetrates through the placental and blood-brain barrier.

The T1/2 is 255 min. It is excreted by the kidneys unchanged (20%), as glucuronide (60%), as sulfate – 20%.

– Solid gelatin capsule (body)

Gelatin, water, diamond blue dye, titanium dioxide, floxin B dye, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, sodium lauryl sulfate.

– Solid gelatin capsule (cap)

Gelatin, water, diamond blue dye, titanium dioxide, quinoline yellow dye, floxin B dye, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, sodium lauryl sulfate.

How to take, the dosage

The standard intake is 1 capsule 2 times a day (morning and evening, after a meal). Capsules should be swallowed whole, without chewing, and drink water.

The effect of treatment should be expected after 2-4 weeks. Arthrocer is used continuously for a long time or in courses of at least 4 months. The length of the break between courses of treatment is determined by the doctor.

Interaction

Artroker is not recommended to be taken together with drugs that affect the consistency of intestinal contents (e.g., large amounts of fiber).

Antacids reduce absorption of the drug.

The incidence of intestinal adverse events may increase if concomitantly taken with antibiotics or chemotherapeutic drugs that affect the intestinal microflora.

Special Instructions

The duration of treatment can be long depending on the results achieved.

Antroker may be taken concomitantly with non-narcotic analgesics and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs during the period prior to the development of therapeutic effect.

Periodic monitoring of blood values, liver enzyme activity, and urine is necessary. In case of worsening of renal function the physician should decrease the dose of the drug or cancel it.

Contraindications

Individual intolerance to the components of the drug Artroker or high sensitivity to anthraquinone preparations (e.g., laxatives).

Childhood (under 18 years of age).

Pregnancy, lactation period.

Severe hepatic or renal failure, intestinal obstruction, inflammatory bowel disease.
Lactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption.

With caution:

Patients with lower intestinal irritation are prescribed the drug only in special cases.

Side effects

In case of hypersensitivity to the drug components, allergic reactions of varying degrees, rash, itching may occur. In the initial period of taking the drug, digestive system disorders may occur temporarily: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain. In this case, the dose should be reduced to 1 capsule a day.

There may be intense yellow to brown staining of urine (depending on pH), which does not require reducing the dose (withdrawal) of the drug.

Overdose

– Symptoms: in case of overdose diarrhea and weakness are possible.

– Treatment: symptomatic. In case of overdose or accidental ingestion of medication by children it is necessary to consult a doctor.
