Pharmaceutical group:
Pharmaceutical regulating metabolism in cartilage.
Pharmaceutical action:
Chondroitin sulfate is the main component of proteoglycans that together with collagen fibers make up the cartilage matrix.
It has chondroprotective properties, inhibits the activity of enzymes that cause degradation of articular cartilage, stimulates chondrocytes to produce proteoglycans, increases metabolic processes in cartilage and subchondral bone, affects calcium-phosphorus metabolism in cartilage tissue, stimulates its regeneration, and participates in the formation of bone and cartilage base.
It has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, reduces release of inflammatory mediators and pain factors into synovial fluid through synoviocytes and synovial macrophages, inhibits secretion of leukotriene B4 and prostaglandin E2.
The ARTRADOL promotes restoration of cartilaginous surfaces of joints, prevents collapse of connective tissue; normalizes production of joint fluid, which leads to improvement of joint mobility and reduction of pain intensity.
With structural similarity to heparin it potentially prevents formation of fibrin clots in the synovial and subchondral microcirculatory channel.
Pharmacokinetics:
Absorption and distribution
Chondroitin sulfate is readily absorbed by injection/m, detectable in significant concentrations in blood after 30 min and in synovial fluid after 15 min. Cmax is reached 1 h after injection, then drug concentration slowly decreases over 2 days. The drug accumulates mainly in the cartilage (Cmax in articular cartilage is reached after 48 hours).
Elimination
Extracted by the kidneys within 24 hours.
Indications
Degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the joints and spine:
— primary arthrosis;
— osteoarthritis with predominant damage to large joints;
— intervertebral osteochondrosis.
Pharmacological effect
Pharmaceutical group:
A drug that regulates metabolism in cartilage tissue.
Pharmaceutical action:
Chondroitin sulfate is the main component of proteoglycans, which together with collagen fibers make up the cartilage matrix.
Has chondroprotective properties; inhibits the activity of enzymes that cause degradation of articular cartilage; stimulates the production of proteoglycans by chondrocytes; enhances metabolic processes in cartilage and subchondral bone; influences phosphorus-calcium metabolism in cartilage tissue, stimulates its regeneration, and participates in the construction of the basic substance of bone and cartilage tissue.
It has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, helps reduce the release of inflammatory mediators and pain factors into the synovial fluid through synoviocytes and macrophages of the synovial membrane, suppresses the secretion of leukotriene B4 and prostaglandin E2.
The drug ARTRADOL helps restore the cartilaginous surfaces of joints and prevents the collapse of connective tissue; normalizes the production of joint fluid, which leads to improved joint mobility and reduced pain intensity.
Possessing structural similarities to heparin, it can potentially prevent the formation of fibrin thrombi in the synovial and subchondral microvasculature.
Pharmacokinetics:
Suction and distribution
Chondroitin sulfate is easily absorbed when administered intramuscularly, after 30 minutes it is found in significant concentrations in the blood, and after 15 minutes in the synovial fluid. Cmax is reached 1 hour after administration, then the concentration of the drug slowly decreases over 2 days. The drug accumulates mainly in cartilage tissue (Cmax in articular cartilage is reached after 48 hours).
Removal
Excreted by the kidneys within 24 hours.
