Biologically active food supplement. Arthra® MSM contains high concentrations of glucosamine, chondroitin, hyaluronic acid and methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), which in combination exhibit synergism, complementing and enhancing the effects of each other.
As we age the synthesis of glucosamine and chondroitin decreases, while methylsulfonylmethane (a natural source of sulfur) only enters the body in minute quantities.
Chondroitin and glucosamine are essential to the repair of connective tissue, improve cushioning properties of cartilage and increase joint mobility.
The components of Arthra® MSM:
- contribute to reducing inflammation and joint pain;
- contribute to increasing joint mobility;
- contribute to accelerating cartilage regeneration;
- protect articular cartilage;
- as a source for the formation of cartilage matrix and connective tissue, promoting their regeneration.
Glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate are involved in the synthesis of connective tissue. Glucosamine is a structural component for the formation (synthesis) of other components of cartilage structures, inhibits the development of degenerative processes in joints and restores their function. Introduction of exogenous glucosamine increases the production of cartilage matrix.
Chondroitin sodium sulfate serves as an additional substrate for the formation of a healthy cartilage matrix and is part of the synovial (joint) fluid that enables gliding of the articular surfaces and nourishes the cartilage; it also helps reduce the need for NSAIDs.
. Hyaluronic acid is part of joint fluid where it acts as a lubricant, reducing friction between articular surfaces, is part of cartilage where it performs a “spring” function (maintains stability of cartilage tissue and compression), is an important component of synovial fluid, determining its viscoelastic properties, it forms a coating on the entire inner surface that protects articular cartilage and synovial membrane from mechanical damage as well as from free radicals and inflammatory factors
Hyaluronic acid forms a thin, semi-permeable protective layer on the surface of mucous membranes, covering nerve endings and preventing irritation and stimulating collagen formation.
Methylsulfonylmethane is a source of bioavailable sulfur, a component of the proteins that make up all connective tissues. MSM reduces the risk of inflammation, increases the synthesis of collagen proteins and helps maintain joint health.
