The tincture of peony root has a remarkable sedative effect and yet has no significant effect on blood pressure, breathing, heart rate. In medicine, marjoram root is used as a sedative, analgesic and bactericidal agent. It treats: insomnia, neurasthenia, asthma, epilepsy, headaches, vegetative vascular dystonia, stomach cramps, mastopathy.

In folk medicine, marjoram root is used for diarrhea, bleeding, fever, cough, rheumatism, gout, hypertension, insomnia, epilepsy, purulent ear infections, erosions and uterine cancer. It is used to treat tumors, female illnesses, diabetes, atherosclerosis and impotence. The roots of the plant contain pentagalloylglucoside, which has an antiviral effect. In addition, marjoram root is used for kidney diseases and as an antidote for poisoning.

Directions for use

Decoction: pour 200 grams of boiling water in an enamel bowl and heat in a boiling water bath for 30 minutes, strain, 1/2 tablespoon 4 – 5 times a day 30 minutes before meals.

Tincture: 50 grams of marian root in 500 ml of vodka, infuse for 15 days. Use 30 – 35 drops 3 – 4 times a day 30 minutes before a meal.
