Synopsis

The immortelle has antibacterial activity which is attributed to the presence of resin acids.

The extract of immortelle has an antispasmodic effect on the smooth muscles of the intestines, biliary tract, gallbladder and blood vessels. These properties are due to the presence in the plant flavonoid compounds. Galenic preparations of the plant improves bile secretion, stimulates the synthesis of bile acids from cholesterol, increases the content of cholate and bilirubin in the bile. Immortelle preparations increase the cholate-cholesterol ratio, thus reducing the lithogenicity of bile and gently increase the tone of the gall bladder.

In addition, it suppresses the growth of staphylococci and streptococci, stops vomiting and nausea, relieves the heaviness “under the spoon”, pain in the gallbladder area.
