Alpizarin, 2% ointment 10 g

Alpizarin has antiviral activity against DNA-containing viruses: herpes simplex virus (Herpes simplex) types I and II, Varicella zoster (shingles and varicella zoster virus), cytomegalovirus. In experiments in vitro the inhibitory effect of Alpizarin against HIV was shown.

The inhibitory effect of Alpizarin on virus reproduction is especially pronounced at early stages of the disease. The mechanism of action is realized extracellularly.

The drug prevents penetration of the virus inside the cell disrupting its reproduction.

Indications

Alpizarin is used in adults and children in combination therapy for acute and relapsing forms of herpes simplex extragenital and genital localization, herpes zoster, varicella, viral diseases of the oral mucosa, cytomegalovirus infection, Kaposi herpetiform eczema.

100 g. ointment for external use contains:

the active ingredient:

tetrahydroxyglucopyranosylxanthene (Alpizarin) in terms of 100% substance 2 g,

excipients:

Vaseline medical – up to 100 g of ointment

How to take, the dosage

Topically, topically, 4-6 times a day.

In case of skin lesions it is prescribed for children – 2% ointment; on mucous membranes for adults and children – 2% ointment. The ointment is applied in a thin layer and lightly rubbed.

The therapeutic effect of the drug is most pronounced when it is prescribed at the beginning of the disease or relapse. The duration of treatment depends on the form and severity of the disease.

Contraindications

High sensitivity to the components of Alpizarin. Pregnancy. Childhood under 3 years of age.

With caution: the period of breast-feeding.

Side effects

Allergic reactions are possible.
