Acriderm SC is a combined drug for external use with anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, antiseptic, keratolytic action.
Betamethasone dipropionate is a glucocorticosteroid, has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-exudative, anti-edema and antipruritic effects. It inhibits leukocyte accumulation, release of lysosomal enzymes and proinflammatory mediators in the inflammation focus, inhibits phagocytosis, decreases vascular and tissue permeability and prevents inflammatory edema formation.
Salicylic acid provides a keratolytic, antimicrobial action, eliminates stratum corneum and promotes deeper penetration of the glucocorticosteroid.
Indications
Topical treatment of dermatoses accompanied by hyperkeratosis: psoriasis, limited and diffuse neurodermitis, lichen planus, eczema, dyshydrotic dermatitis, ichthyosis and ichthyoform changes.

Special Instructions
If there are signs of hypersensitivity or skin irritation associated with the use of the drug, treatment should be discontinued and the patient should find an adequate therapy. During prolonged treatment, when applying the drug to large surfaces of the skin, when using occlusive dressings, as well as in children, systemic absorption of glucocorticosteroids is possible.
In children from 1 year of age the drug is prescribed only with strict indications and under medical supervision, because of possible systemic side effects associated with betamethasone. When using the drug on large surfaces and/or under occlusive dressing suppression of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system function and development of hypercorticism symptoms may occur, reduction of growth hormone excretion and increased intracranial pressure may be observed.
Atrophic changes may occur on the skin of the face more frequently than on other body surfaces after long-term treatment with topical glucocorticosteroids; in this case, the course of treatment should not exceed 5 days.
Acriderm SC ointment is not intended for use in ophthalmology. Avoid getting it in the eyes.
Long-term use should be discontinued gradually.

Check with your doctor if you experience any adverse reactions not described in the instructions.
Overdose
Acute overdose is unlikely; however, chronic overdose accompanied by signs of hypercorticism: hyperglycemia, glucosuria, reversible suppression of adrenal function, manifestation of Cushing’s syndrome is possible with excessive or prolonged use of the drug.
Treatment Appropriate symptomatic treatment is indicated. In case of chronic toxic effects, gradual withdrawal of the drug is recommended.
Pregnancy use
The safety of topical use of glucocorticosteroids in pregnant women has not been established; prescription of drugs of this group during pregnancy is justified only if the potential benefit exceeds the possible risk. During pregnancy, drugs of this group should not be used in high doses or for a long time.
It has not been established whether topical use of glucocorticosteroids can cause them to appear in the mother’s milk, so the question of stopping breastfeeding should be addressed.
