AKT-HIB forms specific resistance to Haemophilus influenzae type b and stimulates the appearance of antibodies. The mechanism of immune response as a result of vaccination consists in activation by stimulated T-lymphocytes of B-lymphocytes through mediators of immunity (lymphokines), which causes production of antibodies with specificity to PRP (mainly IgG class).
Pharmacodynamics
Conjugation of PRP with the carrier protein gives the polysaccharide the properties of a T-dependent antigen. In addition, a pronounced booster effect is observed with repeated injections, which is evidence of the formation of immunological memory as a result of the primary vaccination.
Indications
It is recommended to all children without exception of the first year of life, starting from 3 months of age. Especially indicated:
Composition
1 dose (0.5 ml) of the vaccine after lyophilizate dissolution contains: Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) polysaccharide conjugated with tetanus anatoxin – 10 µg; hydroxymethyl aminomethane – 0.6 mg, sucrose – 42.5 mg.
The solvent contains sodium chloride 2 mg, water for injection q.s. up to 0.5 ml.
How to take, the dosage
The standard immunization regimen includes 4 injections at the same time as the DPT vaccines (vaccinations are given at 3-4.5-6-18 months; an equivalent regimen of 2-4-6-18 months is used abroad). If you start vaccinating a child over 6 months of age, two doses are required with an interval of one month and revaccinations at 18 months of age. All children over the age of one year need only one vaccination.
The duration of immunity (when vaccinated according to the instructions) after Akt-HIB vaccination is sufficient to protect the child until the age of 5 years, that is, until the child is able to develop immunity to hemophilus influenzae independently.
Special Instructions
Injection of this medicine (like any other vaccine) is not recommended for fever and acute infectious diseases.
If the vaccine is used at the same time as measles, mumps and rubella vaccine, both products should be injected into different parts of the body.
Contraindications
Side effects
As with any active medication, Akt-KHIB may cause moderate to transient adverse reactions of varying severity.
