Protective collars have a number of advantages: hygienic (well cleaned and disinfected); the procedure of treatment of wound surface is simplified (it is not necessary to untie anything, remove and then put on); collars completely limit access to the head, torso and upper parts of paws; good aeration of damaged skin and no problems with thermoregulation (which is especially important for the treatment of septic wounds).
