Salofalc has anti-inflammatory action.

Inhibits the synthesis of arachidonic acid (AG) metabolites, activity of neutrophil lipooxygenase, inhibits migration, degranulation and phagocytosis of neutrophils, immunoglobulin secretion by lymphocytes; binds and destroys free oxygen radicals.

Indications

Ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease.

Pharmacological effect

Salofalk has an anti-inflammatory effect.

Special instructions

Salofalk is recommended to be used only under the supervision of a physician.

Before starting treatment, during therapy (14 days after its start and then every 4 weeks), as well as after the end of therapy (every 3 months), blood and urine tests should be performed.

To monitor renal function, it is recommended to determine the level of urea and creatinine in the blood serum and study the urine sediment.

Mesalazine

Composition

1 fl. contains mesalazine 4 g.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, blood diseases, liver failure, children’s age (up to 2 years).

Side Effects

Rarely – abdominal pain, diarrhea, flatulence, headaches and dizziness, allergic reactions, in isolated cases – interstitial nephritis, systemic lupus erythematosus syndrome, methemoglobinemia, thrombocytopenia.

Interaction

With simultaneous administration, it is possible to enhance the effect of coumarin anticoagulants, increase the toxicity of methotrexate, reduce the diuretic effect of spironolactone and furosemide, and reduce the effectiveness of probenecid and rifampicin.

Enhances the hypoglycemic effect of oral antidiabetic agents – sulfonylurea derivatives.
