The capsules “Fish Oil” – a drug of animal origin, the effect of which is determined by the properties of its constituent vitamins A and D.

Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin that plays an important role in redox processes, is involved in the synthesis of mucopolysaccharides, proteins and lipids.

It participates in the formation of visual pigments necessary for normal twilight and color vision: ensures the integrity of epithelial tissues, regulates bone growth.

Vitamin D stimulates absorption of calcium and phosphorus in the intestine, reabsorption of calcium and phosphorus in the kidneys, calcium transport through cell membranes, regulates the maintenance of bone structure.

It also has a positive effect on the development of the immune system, cell proliferation and differentiation, lipid and several hormone synthesis, functional activity of the cardiovascular system and gastrointestinal tract, reduces the level of parathyroid hormone in the blood.

It is required for normal functioning of the parathyroid glands, is involved in the synthesis of adenosine triphosphoric acid.

Interaction

The activity of vitamin D may decrease when used simultaneously with anticonvulsants or barbiturates.

Simultaneous use with estrogens increases the risk of hypervitaminosis A.
Vitamin A reduces the anti-inflammatory effect of glucocorticoids.

Weakens the effect of calcium preparations, benzodiazepines and increases the risk of hypercalcemia.
Colestiramine, colestipol, mineral oils, neomycin decrease absorption of vitamin A.
Isotretinoin increases the risk of toxic effect.

Simultaneous use of tetracycline and vitamin A in high doses (50,000 units or more) increases the risk of intracranial hypertension.

High doses of vitamin E may decrease the amount of vitamin A in the body.

In hynervitaminosis D may increase the effect of cardiac glycosides and increase the risk of arrhythmias.
Under the influence of barbiturates (including phenobarbital), phenytoip, primidone the need for vitamin D may significantly increase.

Long-term therapy with the drug against the background of simultaneous use of aluminum- and magnesium-containing antacids increases the concentration of vitamin A and D in the blood. Calcitonin, bisphosphonates, isoniazid, rifampicin, plikamycin, glucocorticosteroids reduce the drug effect.

Increases the absorption of phosphorus containing drugs and the risk of hyperphosphatemia. When concomitant use with sodium fluoride the interval between doses should be at least 2 hours; with oral forms of tetracyclines – at least 3 hours.

Directions for use

Take orally 1-2 capsules 3 times a day, after eating, with cold or slightly warm water.

It is recommended to swallow the capsules immediately with plenty of water, you should not keep them in your mouth for a long time, because the gelatin included in the shell can make the capsule sticky, which will make it difficult to swallow later.

The course of administration – at least 1 month. The duration of the drug is determined by the doctor.

Special Instructions

Medicinal product “Fish Oil” is not recommended to use simultaneously with other vitamin preparations containing vitamins A and D, in order to avoid overdose of these vitamins.

Long-term use in high doses leads to chronic hypervitaminosis. When prophylactic administration of vitamin D it is necessary to be aware of possible overdose, especially in children.

In older age the need for vitamin D may increase. One capsule of the preparation contains 500 ME of vitamin A and 50 MF of vitamin D.

Effect on the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms.

The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and engage in other potentially dangerous activities that require high concentration and rapid psychomotor reactions.

Contraindications

Individual intolerance to the components, pregnancy, lactation, acute and chronic cholecystitis and pancreatitis. Before use, it is recommended to consult a doctor.
