Pharmacological properties

Aqua Maris® Strong is a hypertonic sterile sea water solution. The hypertonic solution reduces nasal mucosal edema by removing excess fluid from the intercellular space due to osmotic pressure difference.

It is used in inflammatory diseases of the nose, sinuses and nasopharynx to eliminate mucosal edema, as a “natural decongestant”. It has an antibacterial effect.

Aqua Maris® Strong cleanses viruses and bacteria from nasal mucosa, promotes local immunity and has local anti-inflammatory effect.

Microelements contained in the product improve the function of the pericardial epithelium which increases the resistance of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity and sinuses to introduction of pathogenic bacteria and viruses.

Indications

Aqua Maris® Strong is shown:

to eliminate swelling of the nasal mucosa, especially for persons suffering from hypersensitivity to chemical drugs, including pregnant women and during lactation;

for the treatment of acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses and nasopharynx – such as:

– acute and chronic rhinitis;

– acute and chronic sinusitis;

– nasopharyngitis;

– acute and chronic sinusitis

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Aqua Maris® Strong is a hypertonic sterile solution of sea water. A hypertonic solution reduces swelling of the nasal mucosa by removing excess fluid from the intercellular space due to the difference in osmotic pressure.

It is used for inflammatory diseases of the nose, sinuses and nasopharynx to eliminate swelling of the mucous membrane, as a “natural decongestant”. Has an antibacterial effect.

Aqua Maris® Strong washes away viruses and bacteria from the nasal mucosa, improves local immunity, and has a local anti-inflammatory effect.

The trace elements included in the drug improve the function of the ciliated epithelium, which increases the resistance of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses to the introduction of pathogenic bacteria and viruses.

Special instructions

Use with caution if you have frequent nosebleeds.

ABILITY TO INFLUENCE REACTION SPEED WHEN DRIVING VEHICLES OR WORKING WITH OTHER MECHANISMS

Composition

Nasal spray.

Sterile hypertonic solution of Adriatic Sea water – 100%.

Does not contain preservatives.

Presence of ions:

Sodium (Na+) – not less than 7.50 mg/ml;

Calcium (Ca2+) – not less than 0.25 mg/ml;

Potassium (K+) – not less than 0.20 mg/ml;

Magnesium (Mg2+) – not less than 1.00 mg/ml;

Chlorides (Cl¯) – not less than 16.50 mg/ml;

Sulfates (SO4 2-) – not less than 1.80 mg/ml;

Hydrocarbonates (HCO3¯) – not less than 0.10 mg/ml;

Bromides (Br¯) – not less than 0.04 mg/ml.

30 ml of the drug in a dark glass bottle, equipped with a spray device and a protective cap made of propylene.

One bottle along with instructions for use is placed in a cardboard box.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy and breastfeeding are not contraindications for use.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Side Effects

Feeling of discomfort in the nasal cavity at the beginning of use.

Interaction

Since the drug does not have a systemic effect on the body, no interactions with other drugs have been noted.

May be used with other medications used to treat runny nose.

Overdose

No cases of overdose have been reported.

Storage conditions

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C, out of the reach of children.
